Workshop for the decoration of papier-machè masks

Includes demonstration how the mask was born:
  • historiography of mask;
  • explanation of the different stages in the realization of masks;
  • presentation of the masks belonging to the tradition of the Venetian Carnival and of the Comedy of Art;
  • the decoration of the mask chosen by the participants.

Course for the realization and decoration of papier-machè masks

includes:
  • explanation of the different stages in the realization of a mask;
  • step by step realization of a traditional Venetian mask starting from a plaster cast, which will be filled with different layers of a special blotting paper, previously bathed and glued
  • the day after, once the mask is dried, it will be decorated
The maximum number of person for each group is 2 people.

Length: about 8 hours (2 days – only in the morning)

Workshop for the decoration of a piece of pottery
(every day except on July and August)

Every student will be invited to decorate an already prepared piece of pottery, using a traditional technique inspired to the italian maiolica or sgraffito ware. Pieces will be fired and given after 48 hours, or shipped.

The groups dimension is minimum 2 up to a maximum of 5 people.

Raku ceramic workshop
(every day on July and August)

Enjoy the excitement of a raku ceramic workshop in Italy, surrounded by the rolling hills in the beautiful region of Le Marche.
Villa “Il Giardino” is a 19th century villa situated on the hills a few minutes by the Adriatic sea.
Art classes have been taken place successfully at villa “Il Giardino” for several years every summer.
Here you can have a taste of the italian life and culture working in a friendly family-like atmosphere. The full day workshop is carefully planned to offer the partecipants an exciting experience of raku pottery.
Students will be working with five already prepared pieces, made of refractory clay, rich in grogs, in order to resist temperature shocks. The class includes the study of different oxides in the glazes and their reaction during the reduction after the firing, the preparation of colours, different tecniques of application of glazes, and firing.
This workshop can easily be associated to the visit of the Medieval and Renaissance neighboring towns of Corinaldo, Urbino, Urbania, Faenza, and to the visit of the Italian highly skilled pottery studios in Deruta.

The groups dimension is minimum 2 up to a maximum of 15 people. The price includes: transportation from/to Senigallia train station; the course and course materials; cost of firing; the lunch and the drinks during day of course. The price does not include the trip to Senigallia.

The price of the courses is to be paid apart directly to the single supplier.

Our association books for our associated the required services and provide the transfer - cost for this service € 30,00 one-way, or € 50,00 including the return. This option is not valid for the raku ceramic workshop taking place in Senigallia.
