Mini conferences: how an authentic Venetian mask is made and decorated
|
We want to keep people’s attention focused throughout the presentation, with no low points. We therefore use enlargements of details taken from antique prints or paintings which show the masks in their context, as if they were snapshots of various typical situations.
We also wear masks ourselves: we put on a "bautta", "volto" or tricorn - the most traditional costumes, and explain all their details.
Such methods allow the past to be brought back to life in the most direct and exciting way.
Our aim is to captivate the public and provide historic information.
